EPDM (commonly referred to as rubber) roofing systems are ideal for low sloped or flat roofs. EPDM is a single ply membrane that can be fully adhered or mechanically fastened to the roof deck or rigid insulation. Membranes are available in thicknesses of 45 or 60 mil from manufactures including Firestone, Genflex, GAF, and Versico.
Thermoplastic Poly Olefin or TPO membrane systems are designed to withstand extreme environmental exposure. A TPO roof system has superior seam strength than other systems since the seams are heat welded.
