EPDM Roof Repair

Rubber (EPDM) Roof Repair

Deer Park Roofing, Inc. was contracted to perform maintenance to this commercial property located in downtown Cincinnati. The first photo shows the Rubber (EPDM) ballasted by concrete pavers. The roof had several leaks and was in need of repair.

The lack of maintenance over a 15 year period was the contributing factor for the roof leaks. As the roof pavers deteriorated, foot traffic caused punctures to the single ply EPDM. The property manager did not wish to replace the rubber membrane and asked for a solution that was within their roofing budget.

Our roof mechanics first removed the concrete pavers and identified several areas in need of repair. The roof was then cleaned and primed for the installation of new roof flashing and EPDM patches to the existing rubber roof system. Metal anchor bar was installed to replace the ballasted pavers.

New flashing was installed to all HVAC curbs and EPDM cover tape was installed over the anchor bar. All roof penetrations were either repaired or replaced. Debris was removed from the roof drains to eliminate ponding water.

After the repair work was completed, new lightweight EPDM roof pavers were installed. The roof system was guaranteed to be free from leaks for a period of five years.

The Deer Park Roofing Staff can inspect your low sloped roof system for repair and provide you with a written estimate. We also have maintenance contracts available that are billed on a time and material basis. Maintenance contracts can expedite the roof repair process, especially during periods of severe weather.
